Breakfast in OC

We had two mornings when we were in OC that we needed to get breakfast, so I thought it would be nice to do a smaller breakfast the first day and a large one the day that we were heading home. There's no shortage of breakfast joints on the strip, but the trick is picking a good one. I turned to Yelp for a little bit of guidance and came up with The Muze Cafe, located down by the inlet and a fairly short walk from our hotel.

The Muze only offers outdoor seating and is built around a large tree. It was already very hot that morning but it wasn't too bad sitting under the tree's shade. There were quite a few people at the restaurant that morning and only one waitress, but she did her best and fortunately service didn't suffer. Here's a picture of the tree!

The menu here is very simple, sweet crepes, waffles, pancakes, and bagel breakfast sandwiches. I had a bagel sandwich on a plain bagel with egg, cheese, bacon, green peppers, and cream cheese. Justin chose the steak and egg sandwich with green peppers, onions, cheese, and cream cheese. These were really good, and we both agreed that we liked that the veggies were not cooked and fresh and crunchy as opposed to soggy and oily.

Before we went home we stopped at the Sahara Cafe for a large breakfast to fill us up for the ride. We had been here once before and there's always a line out the door but fortunately it moves quickly. I picked the Chesapeake Eggs Benedict, a traditional eggs benedict served over crabmeat. Justin chose the Eggs Benedict without the crab. This dish doesn't need much explaining, it's just good old hearty breakfast food that's awesome!
