Cherry Limeade

Just a short post this morning before crashing after working all night but definitely worth it! One of my favorite parts about summer is cool, refreshing drinks that are often fruity in nature. What better one to whip up than cherry limeade!

This is a Pioneer Woman recipe and really easy to make. I made it this past Tuesday night during our bake fest and it was delicious.

Ingredients

2-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda ( I used Sprite Zero)
1 cup fresh squeezed lime juice (I substituted with bottle lime juice that I had on hand)
1 cup sugar
One 10 ounce jar of maraschino cherries with juice
Thin lime slices

Directions

Chill all ingredients beforehand. Once cold mix all of the ingredients in your desired serving dispenser, pitcher, bowl, etc. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Be sure to serve with a ladle to get cherries and lime slices in each cup.

It's so pretty! If you have the patience to squeeze out lime juice into a full cup I definitely think it would enhance the flavor even more by getting rid of some of the additives from the bottled lime juice but it still tasted great. Also, when it comes to presentation fun and colorful striped straws add a little pizzazz to your favorite glasses and they're easily found at places like Target. Here's to summer!
